Children's Authors and Illustrators Series - Author Tangular Irby

The New Haven Free Public Library’s Children’s Authors and Illustrators series returns! Join local author Tangular Irby as she conducts a read aloud of her children’s book, Pearl and her Gee’s Bend Quilt, an engaging story about family, art, and adventure. She will discuss the legacy of Gee’s Bend quilting, her relationship to Gee’s Bend quilters, and the inspiration for her children’s books. Tangular will also encourage others to consider writing and sharing their own stories. There will also be a book giveaway, while supplies last.

2nd Annual CT Men of Color Flashmob

Bron and Noir proudly presents the 2nd Annual CT Men of Color Flash Mob! The event will be held on Hill House Ave. in New Haven, CT! Please be prompt at 12:30pm! Parking is available in Lot 16 and 17 located at the intersection of Humphrey St. and Whitney Ave. Additional parking is available on Sachem Ave and surrounding areas of Hillhouse Ave.

National Veteran Council for Legal Redress to Host 3rd Annual Veterans Day Celebration

New Haven, CT – September 6, 2023 – The National Veteran Council for Legal Redress (NVCLR) will host its third annual Veteran’s Day celebration on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Vietnam Memorial Monument on the Long Wharf in New Haven, CT. We’re proud to announce that this year’s event takes place in this historic location, as the NVCLR is the founder and creator of the “V” Memorial Monument. NVCLR is a non-profit organization that provides legal assistance to veterans who have been denied their benefits.

Call to Service

In partnership with the City of New Haven, American Legion Post 210, VFW Post 12150, National Veterans Council for Legal Redress, and Yale Veterans Network, join us for a Long Wharf War Memorial Fall Clean Up. Materials will be provided by the New Haven Public Works Department. Please bring your work gloves, shovels, brooms, and gas or battery powered blowers or trimers. This event will take place on Saturday, November 4 from 9-11 am, at the Vietnam War Memorial – Long Wharf Dr – New Haven, CT.
