Yale Veterans Day Ceremony & Campus Activities, 10-NOV-2017

Wednesday, November 8, 2017
From the Desk of Kimberly Goff-Crews, Secretary of the University and Vice President for Student Life

Dear Members of the Yale Community,

As Secretary of the University and Vice President for Student Life, I am honored to extend an invitation to Yale’s Veterans Day ceremony on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 12:30 p.m.

The ceremony will take place inside Woolsey Hall, 500 College Street, New Haven, due to the expected wind chill. Veterans representing Yale students, faculty, and staff will give remarks of remembrance, reflecting on their experiences and sharing them with our community. Musicians from the School of Music, conducted by Tom Duffy, will present echoing taps, and the national anthem and service songs will be performed. You can learn more about the ceremony on Yale News.

Several veterans-focused activities will also take place on Friday. Activities include a photo booth in Memorial Hall sponsored by Veterans Count at Yale, the creation by Yale Students for Veterans of a field of flags on Cross Campus beginning on Friday morning, and Yale military history tours conducted by ROTC students, which will depart from Beinecke Plaza at approximately 1:30 p.m. following the ceremony. Please dress warmly due to the expected temperatures.

I hope you will join me as we honor those who have served our country.

Sincerely,

Kimberly M. Goff-Crews
University Secretary and Vice President for Student Life
