What is your current role at Yale University?

I am currently the Supervisor of Administrative Support at Yale Library, where I manage and lead a team of ten senior administrative assistants that support 500+ library staff employees.

Could you discuss some of the intangible skills that veterans bring to an organization?

Although I may not be a veteran myself, I have had the privilege of collaborating with veterans throughout my career. Veterans consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic and possess the invaluable ability to adapt to dynamic situations. They greatly enhance team productivity and function effectively as independent contributors.

How are you affiliated with the Yale Veterans Network, how have you been involved, and what do you think about the group?

I have a strong connection to the military as the wife, granddaughter, and niece of veterans. Recognizing and honoring veterans, their dedication, and service has always been an important part of my life. As my husband and I raise our children, we feel that is important to pass on this tradition.

I frequently participate in YVN events and occasionally have the opportunity to introduce speakers. Of note, I was able to introduce Brigadier General (Rtd.) Enoch “Woody” Woodhouse ‘52, WWII Veteran & Tuskegee Airman. What an honor! However, my favorite event is the biannual Long Wharf clean-up, where I can involve my children in volunteer work while paying tribute to veterans.

Is there anything else that you’d like to add?

Having a dedicated affinity group for veterans is truly invaluable.
