In partnership with the City of New Haven, American Legion Post 210, VFW Post 12150, National Veterans Council for Legal Redress, and Yale Veterans Network, join us for a morning of community service at the Vietnam War Memorial – Long Wharf Drive, New Haven, CT. Materials will be provided by the New Haven Public Works Department. Please bring your work gloves, shovels, brooms, and gas or battery powered blowers or trimers. COVID guidelines will be followed and masks and social distancing will be required and adhered to. Food and beverage will not be provided.
Yale’s Affinity Groups, New Haven Fire Department, New Haven Police Department, and Yale New Haven Health are partnering to collect toiletries and cosmetics for mothers at New Reach, the Kinship Program, and Christian Community Action Agency. Items are being collected from Monday, March 15 through Monday, May 3, 2021.

We’re all aware or how our lives are different now due to COVID-19 and this year’s Greater New Haven Heart Walk celebration will be too. While the traditional event will not be held in person this year, we are just as excited because we want this to be the biggest Heart Walk you’ve seen yet. Together, we will reach more people, stay active, and raise critical funds to save lives, and we will do so in fun, new ways.
Women United Mayo School Supply Drive - Support Young Students and Their Families While Learning Remotely
Adapting our tradition of reading to students at Dr. Reginald Mayo Early Childhood School (185 Goffe Street, New Haven, CT 06511), this year we will be inspiring students and educators virtually. Young learners need supplies to support their interactive, hands-on learning at home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Teachers use these specific materials during their live virtual class sessions. Children will be able to complete follow-up activities with your support!
Due to the uptick in cases and change to COVID restrictions we will not be hosting a “Drive-up” toy collection but online donations only. Please see the attached flyer to send out to your departments, contacts, and post on social media sites.

This years drive thru event begins at at Lighthouse Point Park, 2 Lighthouse Point Ter, New Haven, CT at 10:30 a.m. on October 18th, and will end at 11:30 a.m. We encourage all teams, participants and survivors attending to decorate their car on the 18th of October and drive a symbolic pre-determined lap throughout the park. Pictures next to the start and finish line will be taken via event staff and posted to the events Facebook page. Exiting the vehicles will be prohibited.
